“We’re just five Sydney boys who live and breathe music 24/7.... unless Seinfeld re-runs are on”, vocalist Ben Britton emphatically states. "Growing up in a small coastal town, the first music we got into was on bodyboarding and skateboarding videos. Hearing punk rock for the first time changed our lives. It's the backbone of our style now".
The band's influences are widespread but their unique sound is accredited to the combination of strong personalities. "We're no good at copying other bands, whenever we 'try and write a song like this...' it's always a disaster".
Playing live is their passion, "Our goal in 2011 is to be busy, we just want to take our music to as much of Australia as possible". After working with Producer Tom Larkin (Shihad, Calling All Cars) their debut album is set to pave the path for the career and lifestyle 'Strangers' have worked hard for.
The band is young, but the chemistry that is so evident dates back years. They have been through every high and low you can imagine. Their music is the soundtrack to their lives, each song a vehicle to share the struggles and triumphs.
"We like to take our experiences and turn them into what Sinatra quoted as 'The most brutal, ugly, desperate, vicious form of expression it has been my misfortune to hear.... ' I think that sums us up pretty well.”
