As 2025 draws to a close the time has come for us to celebrate the the music that has soundtracked our 50th year of broadcasting.

As a part of wrapping up our 50th Birthday Program for a one off special we will be hosting the Hot 100 on the birthday weekend Sunday 7th December.

Voting is now open!

4ZZZ subscribers get some extra perks during the Hot 100 voting. Your votes hold double weight and you can save a shortlist to come back to finish your list another time.

Don't take too long though. Voting closes at midnight November 30th. Strictly one vote per person.

How many times can I vote?

One vote per person. We can tell when bots are being used! Suspect behaviour may result in votes being disqualified

What if my favourite track isn’t in the shortlist?

The shortlist represents a large survey of tracks we know qualify for the running to be in our Hot 100.

Tracks not represented in the shortlist can be added manually but they still must meet our eligibility criteria to qualify to the final Hot 100. We still want your own list to represent you though, so be as complete and obscure as you want.

What makes a Hot 100 vote legit?

• A vote is a list of tracks represented by a single voter. 
• A vote can have as few or many tracks as you like.
• A vote can be ranked in order where the top track gets a higher weighting, or unranked (in no particular order) where the weighting of the tracks will be distributed evenly
• The tally of a single vote will be distributed and weighted to a maximum effective score, nominally that of ten tracks. Less than ten tracks will effectively have a lower total tally.

Do 4ZZZ Subscribers get more votes?

We know subscribers have better taste, so they get double points (not double votes)! We check a valid subscriber number against your email, so as long as you provide both your vote will be worth double. It’s not fair, but you can fix that by subscribing!

What makes my track eligible to be in the final list?

• Has not been on a previous hot 100 voting list
• The track was released between November 1 2024 and October 31 2025
• A single artist can only have a MAXIMUM of three tracks appear in the vote list
• Each song must have had at least 8 plays on 4ZZZ across at least two different shows - exception to this is our specialty shows, only 5 plays are required on a single specialty program
• 4ZZZ has the discretion to pull tracks from contention that are deemed inappropriate
