Bypass work begins near Aboriginal sites

Developers were forced to start on the northern end of the bypass after strong opposition from the state’s Aboriginal community blocked development on the southern end. Work on the bypass has been repeatedly delayed after concerns were raised about the disruption of sites with significant Aboriginal heritage.
