Indonesia hols conference into rising terrorism

The Indonesian government has hosted an expert conference as concern rises in the archipelago over the number of people leaving the nation to go and fight alongside ISIS and other militant groups in Iraq and Syria.

Terrorism experts discussed how to tackle ISIS at the conference, with one security consultant saying that terrorism poses a bigger threat for the world now than it did when the World Trade Centre was attacked in 2001.

Four Uyghur men from China were arrested earlier this month in Indonesia for allegedly travelling to the country to join ISIS affiliates the East Indonesia Mujahideen.
