Veteran Affairs Minister slams Woolies' Anzac campaign
The supermarket giant's commemoration website invited social media users to share war tributes under the slogan 'Fresh in our Memories'.
Minister Ronaldson said the campaign was "inappropriate" and an insult to the memory of Australian diggers.
He also added that the company did not seek permission from the Veteran Affairs Department in order to use the word 'Anzac', which is liable under law for fines of up to $50,000.
Woolworths took the Fresh in our Memories website down late yesterday.
