Bluesfest Sideshow - KT Tunstall

KT TUNSTALL – always delivers! From the young busker who burst onto the UK’s ‘Later’ programme with Jools Holland way back in 2004 – pumping her ‘Wee Bastard’ loop machine into highly infectious rhythms and beats; KT Tunstall has grown in voice and maturity through 4 albums and a swag of best-selling singles to become an inspired alt-country singer-songwriter. KT TUNSTALL‘s new album has stunned fans and critics alike with its completely new alt-country direction. Gone is the commercial pop songwriter with a belting bluesy voice and a fondness for rootsy rhythms. In its place – a product of two sessions with Giant Sand frontman Howe Gelb – is an album of two halves, temporally and physically. Together, they have produced the album of Kate Victoria Tunstall’s life. ‘Invisible Empire//Crescent Moon’ may well be an album coloured by melancholy, but it is – in KT’s own words: “about singing” … and the critics wholeheartedly agree. As a sideshow to Bluesfest, KT Tunstall will also be playing at The Zoo on April 30th with Special Guests.
