Flanigpanis are a female fronted 4 piece newly coined “anarchist pop punk” band from Brisbane. Formed in 2008 as a 3 piece, they became a 4 piece in 2009, in 2010 they toured and recorded, and in 2011 they released their first studio album Cover Your Ears, which placed top 10 in 4ZzZ’s best albums of the year, and the gross filmclip for the song My Period Is Late placed Flangipanis 3rd in the 4ZzZ hot 100. 2012 saw the band gig through adversities and line-up changes. When life began to get in the way, Flangipanis began a rotating line-up of anywhere between 4 - 6 members at shows, and have become one big open-armed welcoming family. The members have gigged for collectively over 30 or 40 years, bands include Tu Sha Mun Da, Bottlecock, Blowhard, D Rouser, Cursed Earth, The Packets, Forty Five, Semicolon, Thumping Bunjoys, and more. Last year, Flangipanis unleashed their second studio release “Open Your Mouth”, the single I’m Drunk So What Fuck You taking out the number 1 spot at 4ZzZ‘s 2013 Hot 100. This Year, Flangipanis release their third studio recording but first analogue release. Recorded and mixed straight onto tape, this 3 track 7” will make you pregnant, and also give you the option to colour in the cover or have fun with the find-a-word credits.
