Drones seventh studio album, Feelin Kinda Free is out this Friday, March
18, you can get a taste of it thanks to Tiny Mixed Tapes, who are
streaming it right now!
With their national tour set to kick
off at the end of April, The Drones are excited to welcome a bunch of
the country’s finest, along for the ride. Melbourne’s Harmony
will be joining them everywhere except Perth and Wollongong and in
Melbourne at the Tote. This will be Harmony’s first shows in over a
year. Featuring members from Nation Blue, Mclusky, Paleheads, Time For
Dreams, Palm Springs, Remake Remodel, Ukeladies, Steve Miller Band,
Jackie Winter and Led Zeppelin among hundreds of others and yet, they
still sound fresh as a daisy.
Harmony
Harmony coast through verse, chorus and coda like a tropical cyclone.
Their sound is a mongrel concoction of gallows blues and balladry, but
offset by a glorious 3-part gospel vocal ensemble that lifts the songs
out of the dark and into thrilling yet haunting territory.
Harmony feature Tom Lyngcoln (The Nation Blue), Alex Kastaniotis and Jon
Chapple (McLusky). Harmony simmer down all the intensity of their
previous ensembles into a simple, brooding and understated heartbreaker,
while Amanda Roff (Ukeladies), Quinn Veldhuis and Erica Dunn tear the
arrangements apart with sweet reprise.
