Queer Radio interview with Mike Head (Socialist Equality Party Senate Candidate)

The final political guest for the evening was Mike Head who represents the Socialist Equality Party. Mike chats about how the Socialist movement has been increasing over the world as a valid alternative and how it has grown in Australia. From the party website: The Socialist Equality Party (SEP) is standing candidates in the July 2 federal election to win support for a socialist, anti-capitalist and anti-war program. The SEP is the party of the working class. Our campaign is directed to the ever growing number of workers and young people who want a genuine alternative to the Labor and Liberal-National Coalition dominated political system, which serves only the major banks, corporations and the rich. The SEP campaign and candidates will appeal to all those who want to fight against militarism, nationalism, the persecution of refugees, and the endless assault on social and democratic rights. It is aimed at raising the political consciousness of workers and youth. Mike Head is an SEP national committee member, World Socialist Web Site correspondent and Western Sydney University law lecturer. He is a member of the party for more than 40 years. Mike writes regularly for the WSWS on the bipartisan assault against democratic rights, as well as on other political, economic and social issues. He has represented the party in several elections and stood in 2013 as an SEP candidate for the Senate in Queensland. In recent years, he has conducted political work regularly in the Brisbane area, building the influence of the SEP among workers and young people.
