Canada's Braids do really long, dreamy tracts of ambient, art rock that pulse slightly with deeply buried rhythms. Katie Lee sings over the top with the same sort of energy and poise as Bjork, but with what I imagine is a thick Calgary accent. In fact, we coined the adverb Bjorkily to cover her style. Intending no disrespect, the trance-like quality of Braids is utterly beguiling.
