- So, I don't care that Diplo says it doesn't matter what dubstep is so long as you're having a bangin' good time. Even the kind of dubstep that Zomby is supposed to produce - the kind which has made Hyperdub the very successful label it is - sounds nothing like the dubstep which came before it. Hyperdub's sound is all ice-cold trebles, sharp beats and fragmented samples. Even then Zomby himself is a bit of sneak, with the sound of his closet rave fixation leaking through the walls of all his stuff. God, now I'm going to have to agree with Diplo, whatever it is (it isn't dubstep!!!) the combination of that icy cold hyperdub style with the chained-up energy of the rave anthem breathing down the back of your neck, can make for a pretty sweet tune. Natalia's song dropped at the end of last year but perfectly exemplifies what I was saying and is still the biggest thing Zomby has done in a while. Enjoy! Just don't call it dubstep.
