Live Review
Street Soundzzz @ 4ZZZ Studios

To celebrate National Youth Week, the youth volunteers at 4ZZZ organised and held their annual event, Street Soundzzz. This year, the lineup featured young Brisbane musos such as Charlie Seymour-Grant, Winchester, Makeout Creek and more. The gig also supported local Brisbane businesses with a selection of cool market stalls to browse in between the bands.
The gig started with the soothing tones of Charlie Seymour-Grant, a year 12 student who has a flare for getting people to get up and dance. He kicked the day off with some relaxing, yet engaging acoustic songs, slowly drawing in a crowd, which by the end, had grown significantly. Following Charlie was the new and upcoming psychedelic rock band, Winchester. Early in their set, the band dedicated one of their love songs to Charlie and his amazing set, and to be honest, we would too. As the energy and sound from Winchester grew, the crowd grew too, ending in a pretty packed dancefloor.
After enough time to browse the stalls and grab a sausage, Regular Band kicked off their set. Slightly grungier than Winchester, though still just as groovable, the crowd continued to stay and dance to their angsty Brisbane punk vibes. Makeout Creek carried on their legacy with more grungy Brisbane punk, creating a flawless combination of swaying, dancing, and borderline moshing. And last but not least, Max Chillen and the Kerbside Collective graced the stage. They summed up the night with their iconic grungy Brisbane sound. Though the crowd had thinned, tired after hours of dancing to the never-ending talent, Max Chillen pulled every single spectator dancer and mosher back in for some more and ended with such a bang that the crowd continued to dance even after they’d finished.
