Tiny RuinsSome Were Meant For The Sea
Spunk

- Tiny Ruins, or Hollie Fullbrook, is a singer-songwriter out of Auckland with a very classic folk sound. She has what you might call perfect poise. Smooth and gentle singing of slightly melancholy songs against her lone guitar with only the barest additions of other instruments appearing shyly every now and then. Some of those come from J Walker (of Machine Translations and a growing number of production credits) who produced the record when she recorded it here in Australia. The stories of her songs are just as finely crafted: carefully realised snatches of realist narrative detailing the profundities of everyday life. It is hard to pick between them, they are all quiet, brittle and quite beautiful.
