Review: WHY FUTURE STILL NEEDS US: AI AND HUMANITY

Ever wondered where technology is headed towards in our near-distant future? Ever wondered about the potential of artificial intelligence? Well, don’t go anywhere because you’re reading the right article.

Why Future Still Needs Us is an important exhibition for people of all ages to enjoy. Thematically itexplores the independence of technology, in particular artificial intelligence, and it’s many capabilities. In the growing technological age of today, it is not uncommon for AI to perform tasks independently from reading to writing to even auto-encoding a film, Blade Runner to be exact.

Not only will this exhibition expand your mind, but if you let it - it can read yours too. Brain activity is measured via a headband that stretches across your forehead and this data is used to create a sculpture.

The exhibition overall raises questions regarding machine versus human, and whether or not machines can be creative or have emotional responses, much like humans can. The never-ending progression of technology is somewhat frightening, but all in all inspires us to think outside the box and collaborate with instead of resist the progression of artificial intelligence.

Check out this exhibition that runs until the 29th of October, and witness with your own eyes our very near future in where artificial intelligence becomes a little less artificial.
