Game Review
NBA2k13
It all started in 2010 when 2kSports released the record breaking NBA2k10 which took control of all basketball video games with it's new game modes and never before seen features. Since then the series has continued to impress and wow me. From introducing Micheal Jordan into his first ever video game in NBA2k11, and the supreme graphics in NBA2k12, how could this game get any better? The extraordinary developers some how found a way.
When you first play the game you notice how great the game play flows, no players on court are in your way or running into you. In past games, the controls were a pretty difficult to learn and many different combo's for dribble moves and jump shots. This year in NBA2k13 the developers introduced the dribble system with just the right analog stick. This new dribble system allows you to control the dribble moves with just the right analog stick, no need for multiple buttons just to crossover. But with this system there are some downfalls, for example their are many moves with just the one stick, so you could do one move one time and the next time you do pretty much the same thing and it does something totally different. Saying this, the better flow of the game using the dribble system out weighs the inconsistency.
The MyPlayer series makes a return in NBA2k13, and for me, this is easily the best feature in the NBA2k series. In NBA2k13 it it just gets better. Adding more features to develop your player and continue his progress into the hall of fame. This year many new features have been added, for example a social media feature has been added where you get tweets from fans, coaches, players, and the press. Their tweets reflect how you are doing in the league and different opinions they have on you. The MyPlayer game play flows superb and efficiently.
Overall, this new game in the series reflects the spectacular reputation of the NBA2k series.
